In the last 20-30 minutes, American Airlines flight AA1396 from Nashville to Dallas has declared an emergency during a diversion to Little Rock.
Information is limited surrounding the incident at hand.

American Airlines AA1396 Nashville to Dallas…

American Airlines flight AA1396, which declared the emergency, is a routine scheduled flight between Nashville and Dallas.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was N730US.
As per data from Planespotters.net, N730US is a 26.1 year old Airbus A319 that started out life with US Airways back in March 2000.
Following it’s merger with AA in December 2013, the aircraft was handed over to the American Airlines registry.
Of the A319ceo variant, the US carrier has 132 of them in their fleet.
Moreover, of the 132, 124 are in service and eight are parked, offering an average age of 22 years old.
As well as the A319, the airline has the following other aircraft in their mainline fleet:
- 48 Airbus A320s.
- 304 Airbus A321s.
- 399 Boeing 737s.
- 67 Boeing 777s.
- 70 Boeing 787s.
In total, American Airlines has 1020 aircraft in their fleet, of which 983 are in active service, and 37 are parked, offering an average fleet age of 14.4 years.
American Airlines flight AA1396, which declared the emergency, departed from Nashville at 1334 local time and tracked towards Dallas.
However, over the Little Rock area, the aircraft took a deviation, and proceeded to descend rapidly, whilst declaring an emergency via the 7700 squawk code.
From there, the decision was made to divert to the LIT Airport.
At around 1440 local time, the Airbus A319 landed safely without further incident.
Reason for the Emergency?

At this stage, the reason for the emergency onboard American Airlines flight AA1396 Nashville-Dallas is unclear.
What we do know is that the issue is serious enough to force a diversion to a different airport enroute.
As soon as we have more information pertinent to this emergency, then we will update you accordingly.
