Within the last hour or so, a United Airlines Boeing 767 operating UA127 from Rome to Washington declared an emergency.
Information is limited surrounding the incident at hand.

United Airlines Flight UA127 – Rome to Washington…
United Airlines flight UA127, which declared the emergency, is a routine scheduled flight between Rome and Washington D.C.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was N649UA.
As per data from Planespotters.net, N649UA is a 34.1 year old Boeing 767-300ER that was delivered to the airline back in July 1992.
Of the 767-300 variant, United Airlines has 37 of them in their fleet, of which 34 are in active service, and three are parked, with an average age of 30.5 years.
United Airlines flight UA127, which declared the emergency, departed from Rome at 1520 local time this afternoon bound for Washington.
Near the Sassari area in Italy, the aircraft all of a sudden made a rapid descent from 33,000 feet to 10,000 feet, and squawked 7700, the emergency squawk code.
From there, the decision was made to divert to Barcelona for an emergency landing.
The aircraft landed safely there without further incident at just after 5pm local time.
Reason for the Emergency in Barcelona?
According to @FlightEmergency on X, the reason for the emergency onboard United Airlines flight UA127 from Rome to Washington was due to a sudden loss in cabin pressure.
This does align with the fact that the flight rapidly descended to 10,000 feet, as that is standard operating procedure when this does happen.
Data from Flightradar24 highlights that N649UA will look to be ferried to Washington tomorrow (August 28) as UA3937.
If they can’t fix the cabin pressure issue before it’s departure tomorrow, then it will need to operate the flight at 10,000 feet the whole way.
It is understood that as a result of this emergency, the UA127 rotation has been cancelled.
