In the last 10-15 minutes, an Air France flight from Valencia declared an emergency whilst on the descent into Paris CDG.
Information is limited surrounding the incident at hand.
Below is what we know on this so far…
Air France Flight AF1421 – Valencia to Paris…
Air France flight AF1421, which declared the emergency, is a routine scheduled flight between Valencia and Paris CDG.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident near Paris was F-HBLH.
As per data from Planespotters.net, F-HBLH is a 17.5 year old Embraer E190 that started out life with Air France back in March 2009 via an operation by Regional.
By March 2013, the aircraft was then handed over to HOP! and became Air France Hop in September 2019.
Of the E190 variant, the carrier has 26 of them in their fleet, of which all of them are in active service, with an average fleet age of 13.6 years, with all of them typically operating out of Paris.
As well as the E190, the carrier also has 10 E170s.
Of the 10, all but one are in active service, with an average age of 17.2 years.
In total, Air France Hop has 36 aircraft in their fleet, with an average fleet age of 14.6 years.
Air France flight AF1421, which declared the emergency, departed from Valencia at 1719 local time this evening (Sep 6), and tracked north towards Paris.
Everything was normal in the flight until the descent into Paris CDG, with the crew squawking 7700, the general emergency code.
From there, the aircraft was given priority vectors towards CDG for a quick emergency landing, which it did so without any further incident.
Reason for the Emergency?
At this stage, the reason for the emergency onboard Air France flight AF1421 Valencia-Paris is unclear.
What we do know is that the emergency is serious enough to call for the 7700 squawk code to be utilised.
