easyJet Adds Five UK Routes for Summer 2027: Southampton Leads the Way

easyJet has put five new UK routes on sale for summer 2027, with three launching from Southampton alongside new services from Gatwick and Luton.

easyJet has put five additional UK routes on sale for summer 2027, adding to the 18 routes the carrier announced in September. According to Aviation24.be, the expansion covers three new services from Southampton, plus new links from London Gatwick and Luton.

The move signals continued confidence in regional UK departure points, with Southampton (SOU) taking the largest share of the new routes.

What Southampton Is Getting

Aviation24.be reports that Southampton will gain a daily service to Edinburgh from 28 March 2027. Two international routes follow later in the season: twice-weekly flights to Malaga from 1 May, and twice-weekly services to La Rochelle from 29 May.

Both the Malaga and La Rochelle routes will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Edinburgh, by contrast, will run daily, giving Southampton passengers a reliable domestic connection from the start of the summer schedule.

The Gatwick and Luton Additions

From London Gatwick (LGW), easyJet will launch a new service to Cagliari in Sardinia on 1 June 2027. The route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, according to Aviation24.be.

Luton (LTN) will gain a service to Rennes in northwest France from 1 July 2027, with departures on Thursdays and Sundays. Rennes is not a common destination on UK schedules, making this one of the more distinctive additions in the batch.

What Fares Are Available

easyJet is advertising starting fares of £32.48 across the new routes, as reported by Aviation24.be. Passengers should bear in mind that fares at this level are typically available only on the least popular departure dates and sell out quickly as summer approaches.

Holidays as Well as Flights

The carrier's holidays division will also play a role in the launch. According to Aviation24.be, easyJet holidays will offer packages on the Edinburgh and Malaga routes from Southampton.

That is consistent with the airline's broader strategy of bundling flights with accommodation to compete with traditional package holiday operators.

How This Fits easyJet's Wider 2027 Plans

These five routes follow 18 others that easyJet announced in September, meaning the carrier has now added at least 23 new UK routes ahead of summer 2027. The pace of announcements suggests the airline is moving early to capture bookings in a competitive market.

Southampton, in particular, appears to be a priority. Three new routes from a single regional airport in one announcement is a meaningful commitment, covering domestic, short-haul European leisure and a less conventional French destination.

The Bottom Line

easyJet is broadening its 2027 summer programme at pace, and regional airports are central to that plan. Southampton picks up the most new services, with Edinburgh daily and two international routes operating twice weekly. Gatwick adds Cagliari, and Luton adds Rennes.

With starting fares at £32.48 and holidays packages available on select routes, the airline is clearly aiming to attract early bookers. Whether demand justifies the frequencies across all five routes will become clearer as load factors develop through the booking cycle.
