The launch of the Hail route is more than a simple network addition—it reflects Qatar Airways’ long-term strategy to strengthen its presence in Saudi Arabia, a market that continues to grow rapidly in both domestic and international travel demand.

The airline has steadily increased its services to the Kingdom over the years, and the introduction of Hail highlights the importance of the region within its global network.

Qatar Airways has been consistently recognized for its service excellence, most recently being named the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2025.

Its expansion in Saudi Arabia aligns with the Kingdom’s own aviation ambitions, as it continues to invest heavily in tourism, infrastructure, and regional development under its Vision 2030 strategy.

By adding Hail to its network, Qatar Airways is not only offering more travel options for passengers within the Kingdom but also enhancing global access to a region rich in culture, history, and natural beauty.

Boosting Regional and International Connectivity

The new service between Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha and Hail International Airport (HAS) will operate three times per week, with flights departing every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.

The schedule is designed to provide convenient connections for travelers from Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East—regions where Qatar Airways maintains a strong presence and extensive network.

Flight schedule:

  • QR1228: Departs Doha at 14:20, arrives in Hail at 16:30
  • QR1229: Departs Hail at 17:30, arrives in Doha at 19:25

These timings allow passengers arriving in Doha to connect seamlessly to more than 170 destinations worldwide through the airline’s award‑winning hub at Hamad International Airport.

For travelers in Hail, the new route opens up a wide range of international travel possibilities, from business trips in Asia to leisure holidays in Europe and beyond.

Located in the heart of north‑central Saudi Arabia, Hail Province is a region steeped in heritage and natural beauty.

Historically, it served as a vital stop along ancient trade and pilgrimage routes, linking the Arabian Peninsula with the wider Middle East.

Today, it remains a cultural crossroads, offering visitors a glimpse into thousands of years of human history.

The region is home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites featuring some of the world’s most significant rock art, depicting scenes of daily life, wildlife, and early human expression.

These archaeological treasures make Hail a compelling destination for travelers interested in history, anthropology, and outdoor exploration.

Beyond its historical significance, Hail is known for its dramatic desert landscapes, rugged mountains, and unique geological formations.

The province has become increasingly popular among adventure travelers seeking hiking, camping, and off‑road experiences.

As Saudi Arabia continues to promote tourism and diversify its economy, Hail is emerging as an important regional hub with growing cultural and economic influence.

Qatar Airways’ new service is expected to support this growth by making the region more accessible to international visitors and strengthening domestic connectivity within the Kingdom.
