Within the last 30 minutes, Aeroflot flight SU1854 from Moscow to Baku has declared an emergency not too long after departure.
Information is limited surrounding the incident at hand.

Aeroflot Flight SU1854 – Moscow to Baku…
Aeroflot flight SU1854, which declared the emergency, is a routine scheduled flight between Moscow and Baku.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was RA-73173.
As per data from Planespotters.net, RA-73173 is a 8.3 year old Airbus A320ceo that was delivered to the airline back in May 2018, originally as VP-BIP.
Following sanctions caused by the Ukraine War, the aircraft was re-registered to RA-73173 in March 2022.
Of the A320ceo, Aeroflot has 52 of them in their fleet, of which all of them are in active service.
As well as the A320ceo, the Russian carrier has the following other aircraft in their mainline fleet:
- 6 Airbus A320neos.
- 35 Airbus A321s.
- 12 Airbus A330s.
- 7 Airbus A350s.
- 37 Boeing 737s.
- 22 Boeing 777s.
In total, the Russian carrier has 171 aircraft in their fleet, of which 164 are in active service, and seven are parked, with an average fleet age of 10.5 years.
Aeroflot flight SU1854, which declared the emergency, departed from Moscow at 1052 local time this morning, originally bound for Baku.
Around 30 minutes after departure, the aircraft declared an emergency via the 7700 squawk code and started rapidly descending to 9,900 feet.
At the time of writing, the aircraft is still in the air, with no indication into when and where it will be landing.
Reason for the Emergency Unclear…
At this time, the reason for the emergency onboard Aeroflot flight SU1854 Moscow-Baku is unclear.
What we do know is that the emergency is serious enough to prompt the broadcast and to do a heavy descent to 10,000 feet.
Although speculative, a straight descent back down to 10,000 feet could indicate a pressurisation issue.
As soon as we have more information pertinent to the incident at hand, we will update you accordingly.
