easyJet Baggage Allowance 2026: Cabin Bag Sizes and Fees Explained

Every easyJet passenger gets one free under seat bag of up to 45 x 36 x 20cm and 15kg, and anything larger costs extra unless a fare or membership includes it.
Every easyJet fare includes one small cabin bag.
According to easyJet’s cabin bag policy, it can measure up to 45 x 36 x 20cm including handles and wheels, weigh up to 15kg and must fit under the seat in front.
These details were checked in October 2026.
A large cabin bag of up to 56 x 45 x 25cm for the overhead locker is a paid extra, and it costs £60 if you leave it until the airport. Hold bags are sold in 15kg and 23kg sizes, and easyJet’s hold luggage page puts the bag drop desk fee at £60 too.
easyJet Baggage Allowance 2026: The Free Under Seat Bag
The cabin bag policy says the 45 x 36 x 20cm limit includes any handles and wheels, and that you need to be able to lift and carry the bag yourself.
The most anyone can take into the cabin is two bags, one small and one large. You may also carry an overcoat, an umbrella and one standard bag of goods bought at the airport.
Children over two and infants with their own booked seat get the same allowance as adults. An infant on your lap is allowed one extra baby changing bag of up to 45 x 36 x 20cm.
A better seat does not change the allowance. easyJet’s seat guide lists a small under seat bag with Up Front seats, and the cabin bag policy says a large bag has to be added to the booking.
Who Gets a Large Cabin Bag Included
The large cabin bag can measure up to 56 x 45 x 25cm including handles and wheels, weigh up to 15kg and must fit in an overhead locker. easyJet’s cabin bag policy says every customer who books one also gets Speedy Boarding.
Three groups can bring one. Anyone can pay to add it to a booking, easyJet Plus members get it free when they enter their membership number at checkout, and Inclusive Plus fare customers have it included.
Space is not guaranteed for Inclusive Plus customers, or for Plus members who have not added the bag in advance. If the lockers are full, easyJet checks the bag into the hold free of charge. The cabin bag FAQs add that limited locker space restricts how many large cabin bags are available on each flight.
What a Large Cabin Bag Typically Costs
easyJet does not give a fixed online price. Which? reported on 10 July 2026 that the airline’s website now says only that cabin bag fees vary, after the Advertising Standards Authority upheld a complaint about an earlier “from £5.99” claim.
Which? had analysed 520 easyJet flights. STV News and City AM reported on 28 January 2026 that the lowest large cabin bag price found was £23.49 and the average was £30.
easyJet’s own numbers are similar. The benefits calculator on the easyJet Plus site, based on June 2026 data, values a large cabin bag at £197.94 across six single flights, which works out at £32.99 a flight.
The one fixed figure is the price of waiting. The cabin bag policy states that a large cabin bag costs £60 at the airport and that adding it online is cheaper.
Hold Luggage Weights and Prices
easyJet’s hold luggage page offers a 15kg bag, which it describes as cheapest when added online in advance, and a 23kg bag, which it calls its most popular choice. Extra weight can be added online in 3kg steps, up to a maximum of 32kg for any single bag.
Each customer, including children and infants, can bring up to three hold bags. Every bag must measure under 275cm when its length, width and height are added together.
Passengers on the same flight and booking can pool their total weight allowance, provided no single bag exceeds 32kg. You can add hold luggage through Manage Bookings up to two hours before departure.
The page gives no online price. MoneySavingExpert, updated on 27 July 2026, says easyJet no longer gives a price range for hold bags, so rely on the figure in your own booking.
The airport price is fixed. The hold luggage page says bag drop desk fees are £60 and that any bag brought to the airport beyond your allowance is charged that fee. MoneySavingExpert describes it as £60 a flight.
If a bag is over its booked weight, easyJet charges a fee for each 1kg of excess and directs passengers to its fees and charges page for the amount. MoneySavingExpert and Travellon, updated in October 2026, both put it at £12 per kg at the airport, so confirm the charge in your booking.

Fare Bundles, easyJet Plus and Holidays
The Standard fare covers the flight and the small under seat bag, according to easyJet’s fares guide. The Inclusive Plus fare, previously called FLEXI, adds a large cabin bag, a 23kg hold bag, a free Up Front seat, Speedy Boarding and Fast Track Security at most major airports. easyJet’s business fares page says Inclusive Plus is sold only through its approved channels, not on easyjet.com or the app.
Which? describes two more bundles. Standard Plus includes a large cabin bag, Speedy Boarding and a seat near the front, while Essentials includes a standard seat and a 23kg hold bag but no cabin bag beyond the free one. Which? found that adding a bag to a Standard fare was sometimes cheaper than buying Standard Plus.
The easyJet Plus membership includes a large cabin bag, a free Up Front or Extra Legroom seat, Speedy Boarding, Fast Track Security at selected airports and a dedicated Bag Drop. The site does not show the price. MoneySavingExpert and Travellon both put it at £249 a year, so check the figure at checkout.
easyJet’s seat guide lists no seat prices either. The Plus calculator values a free premium seat at £155.94 across six single flights, which works out at £25.99 a flight.
Package customers are treated differently. easyJet holidays says its beach holidays include 23kg of hold luggage per person, except for infants, along with the small under seat bag.
How to Avoid easyJet Gate Fees
Measure the bag yourself, wheels and handles included. easyJet’s app has a bag sizing tool on iOS only, but the cabin bag policy says it should only be used as a guide and recommends a tape measure.
Add any extra bag online before you leave home. The cabin bag FAQs state that any bag brought to the gate outside your booked allowance is placed in the hold and charged.
easyJet’s boarding guide says gates close promptly 30 minutes before departure. The hold luggage page also lists a free Twilight Bag Drop the evening before early flights at airports including Gatwick, Luton, Manchester and Edinburgh.
The Bottom Line
The free easyJet allowance is one bag of up to 45 x 36 x 20cm and 15kg, as the cabin bag policy sets out. Pack to those limits, wheels and handles included, and the bag travels at no extra cost.
If you need more, book it online. The Which? research reported by STV News found large cabin bags averaging £30 a flight, against £60 at the airport, and the hold luggage page sets the bag drop desk fee at £60 as well.
easyJet says its prices vary with availability and demand, so trust the figure in your own booking. If the flight itself goes wrong, our guide to easyJet delays and cancellations explains your rights.
