Within the last 30 minutes, an easyJet flight from Lisbon to Manchester has declared an emergency amid bad weather in the UK.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…
easyJet Flight U27703 – Lisbon to Manchester…

easyJet flight U27703, which declared the emergency, is a routine scheduled flight between Lisbon and Manchester.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident is OE-LSO.
As per data from Planespotters.net, OE-LSO is a 3.7 year old Airbus A320neo that was delivered to easyJet Europe back in December 2022.
Of the A320neo variant, easyJet Europe has 20 of them in their fleet, of which all of them are in active service, with an average age of 3.5 years.
Flight U27703, which declared the emergency, departed from Lisbon at 1706 local time and tracked towards Manchester.
As the aircraft got close to the Manchester area, it entered a series of holds between Warrington & Liverpool.
After that, the aircraft then deviated over the Barton area before tracking south and performing a loop over Derby.
It was at this point that the aircraft had declared an emergency via the 7700 squawk code.
The decision was made whilst heading in the direction of Derby for the flight to divert to East Midlands Airport, near Nottingham.
After over three hours in the air, the aircraft landed safely without further incident.
Reason for the Emergency?
The likely reason for this emergency onboard easyJet flight U27703 Lisbon-Manchester is due to a low-fuel emergency.
Furthermore, the holds performed would have burned through reserves, and required a decision to divert.
The 7700 broadcast was to ensure that the aircraft would get a priority landing into East Midlands.
The same happened earlier tonight when two Wizz Air flights bound for London Luton declared an emergency also. See here for the full report.
