JetBlue BlueFirst: New Domestic First Class Now Open for Booking
JetBlue has opened bookings for BlueFirst, its new domestic first-class product, launching on more than 30 routes from 8 December 2026.

JetBlue BlueFirst, the carrier's first-ever domestic first-class product, is now open for booking across more than 30 routes in the United States, with introductory one-way fares starting at $249. The service debuts on 8 December 2026.

What Is JetBlue BlueFirst?
Airline Geeks reports that BlueFirst will be added to all JetBlue aircraft that do not already carry Mint, the airline's lie-flat business-class product used primarily on European and transcontinental routes. JetBlue has never offered a traditional first-class cabin before.
Simple Flying notes that the product was first unveiled in September, and that it is designed to bring premium travel to domestic, Latin American and Caribbean markets that Mint does not serve.

Where and When It Launches
The first BlueFirst flight will operate between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) on 8 December 2026. According to Simple Flying, JetBlue will then add Fort Lauderdale to LaGuardia Airport (LGA) services within days of launch.
Further planned routes include Fort Lauderdale to Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF), Liberia, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Airline Geeks reports that more routes will follow "in the weeks and months ahead."
What Passengers Can Expect
BlueFirst seats are arranged in a two-by-two configuration and feature Tuft and Needle T&N Flex foam cushioning, according to Simple Flying. Passengers get up to five inches (12.7 cm) of seat recline and seven inches (17.8 cm) of additional legroom compared with JetBlue's standard Main cabin seats.
Each seat comes with a 13.3-inch seatback screen with Bluetooth connectivity. Airline Geeks notes that the meal offering is bento box-style, with sommelier-selected wines. On flights over 899 miles (1,438 km), Simple Flying reports that customers will receive a composed meal with an entree, side and dessert.
The Fare Structure
JetBlue is offering three fare tiers for BlueFirst. Simple Flying sets out the differences as follows.
BlueFirst Base is the entry-level option. It includes one checked bag, priority check-in, priority security and Group 1 boarding. Seat selection is free only within 24 hours of departure, and changes or cancellations may incur a fee.
BlueFirst includes two checked bags and advance seat selection with no change or cancellation fees. BlueFirst Flex adds a full refund to the original form of payment before scheduled departure, as well as no fees for same-day switches or standby travel.
What the CEO Said
JetBlue chief executive Joanna Geraghty set out the ambition behind the product. "We designed BlueFirst to deliver a more accessible first-class experience that combines the thoughtful hospitality and service customers expect from JetBlue with exceptional value and comfort," she said, according to Airline Geeks. "We're excited that customers can now start making BlueFirst part of their travel plans."
Simple Flying also quotes Geraghty as saying: "As we bring BlueFirst to more aircraft, customers will see it become available on routes and in markets across our network, giving them even more opportunities to choose an elevated JetBlue experience."
The Bottom Line
JetBlue BlueFirst fills a clear gap in the carrier's domestic offering. With Mint limited to longer, premium-focused routes, BlueFirst gives JetBlue a first-class product it can deploy across a much wider slice of its network, including leisure markets in Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America.
The introductory fare of $249 one way is a deliberate signal that JetBlue wants BlueFirst to attract passengers who might not normally consider first class. Whether the product finds a loyal following will depend on how it performs in practice once the December launch routes are up and running.
