Within the last hour or so, a Loganair flight from London to Dundee declared an emergency and diverted to Aberdeen.
Information is limited surrounding the incident at hand.

Loganair Flight LM622 – London to Dundee…
Loganair flight LM622, which declared the emergency and diverted to Aberdeen, is a routine scheduled flight between London and Dundee.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was G-LMRE.
As per data from Planespotters.net, G-LMRE is a 26.4 year old ATR 42-500 that started out life with Air Dolomiti back in March 2000.
Furthermore, after 11 years with the Italian carrier, it was handed over to Villa Air/Flyme in March 2011 before being handed back to Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) in August 2015.
By September of that year, the aircraft was then sent to Easyfly, where it remained there for five years before being sent back to NAC in 2020.
Moreover, it remained with NAC until finally it was handed over to Loganair in November 2021, where it has been since.
Of the ATR 42 variant, Loganair has 6 of them in their fleet, of which five are in active service, and one is parked, with an average age of 22.8 years.
As well as the 42 variant, the carrier has the following other aircraft in their mainline fleet:
- 15 ATR 72s.
- 2 Britten-Norman BN-2 Islanders.
- 3 De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otters
- 10 Embraer E145s.
Overall, the airline has 36 aircraft in their fleet, of which 34 are in active service, and two are parked, with an average fleet age of 21.3 years.
What Happened During The Flight…
Loganair flight LM622, which declared the emergency and diverted to Aberdeen, departed from London at 1012 local time this morning bound for Dundee.
Furthermore, the aircraft did make it all of the way to Dundee, but instead of executing an approach, the aircraft made several holds over the Scottish airport.
From there, the aircraft declared an emergency via the 7700 squawk code and deviated north to Aberdeen, where it did so without further incident.
What Was The Reason for the Emergency Landing in Aberdeen?
As per @FlightEmergency on X, it is understood that the reason for the emergency onboard Loganair flight LM622 London-Dundee was due to an engine failure.
The diversion to Aberdeen was more than likely due to the fact there would be more runway available and potentially better emergency services on-site too.
Following this engine failure, G-LMRE will be grounded and inspected by maintenance crews, to ascertain the fix.
