Two carriers have confirmed new routes 2027 additions to their schedules, with Malaysia Airlines upgrading capacity on key Asian routes and KM Malta Airlines opening a new European link from April.

Malaysia Airlines Brings the A330neo to Delhi and Taipei
AeroRoutes reports that Malaysia Airlines has filed an expanded Airbus A330-900neo network set to begin from mid-January 2027. Two routes are affected: Kuala Lumpur to Delhi and Kuala Lumpur to Taipei Taoyuan.
Both services are scheduled to begin on 15 January 2027, according to AeroRoutes. The Kuala Lumpur to Delhi service will operate as flights MH190 and MH191, while the Taipei Taoyuan route will also switch to the A330-900neo from the same date. Both routes will initially run every day except Tuesdays, AeroRoutes notes.
The A330-900neo is the stretched, re-engined variant of Airbus's widebody twin. Passengers on both routes can expect the updated cabin experience that the type brings. You can explore the aircraft further using our Aircraft Search tool.
KM Malta Airlines Opens Malta to Bordeaux: New Routes 2027
On the other side of the globe, KM Malta Airlines is adding a new leisure and business link between Malta and Bordeaux. Aviation24.be reports that the twice-weekly service will launch on 1 April 2027, operating on Mondays and Thursdays.
Aviation24.be reports that the airline will use Airbus A320neo aircraft on the route, bringing the narrow-body type's fuel efficiency to the Mediterranean-to-France corridor.
For Malta, whose aviation sector has grown steadily as KM Malta Airlines establishes its identity, the Bordeaux connection gives travellers a direct option to south-west France without connecting through a hub.
What This Means for Passengers
Both announcements reflect a broader pattern of airlines locking in capacity and network decisions well ahead of the northern summer 2027 season. Malaysia Airlines is committing widebody equipment to two routes it clearly sees as growth markets, while KM Malta Airlines is building out European point-to-point flying.

The Bottom Line
The two carriers are approaching 2027 expansion from very different scales, one a full-service widebody operator adding frequency and gauge on established corridors, the other a smaller national airline threading new European connections. Both moves point to continued confidence in demand across their respective networks heading into next year.
