Pyramids Airlines Targets Russia and Caucasus with Eleven New Charter Routes

Pyramids Airlines, the Egyptian carrier, is mounting a significant expansion into the Russian and Caucasus markets for the Northern winter 2026/27 season, with eleven scheduled charter routes filed across Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada, according to OAG schedule data reported by AeroRoutes.

Pyramids Airlines Targets Russia and Caucasus with Eleven New Charter Routes

The programme begins in mid-November 2026 and runs through the winter, mixing entirely new city pairs with upgrades to larger equipment on existing services. The bulk of flying is centred on Sharm el Sheikh (SSH), which serves as the anchor point for the airline's Red Sea charter network.

How the Schedule Builds from November

The first services off the blocks are the two Egyptian gateways to Moscow Sheremetyevo. Sharm el Sheikh begins five weekly flights to Sheremetyevo from 15 November 2026, operated on Boeing 737-800 equipment, while Hurghada follows two days later on 17 November with two weekly 737-800 departures to the same airport, per AeroRoutes.

Those two routes give the carrier a foothold before Christmas, after which the programme expands sharply. Nearly all of the remaining new routes launch in the final week of December 2026.

The Christmas Launch Wave

The Christmas period brings a cluster of new Russian regional destinations, all operated as scheduled charters on the Boeing 737-800. From Sharm el Sheikh, flights to Ekaterinburg and Ufa both begin on 25 December 2026, running four times and twice weekly respectively. Kazan and Perm follow on 27 December, at two weekly and two weekly, with Perm sharing its launch date with a new service to Tbilisi in Georgia, at one frequency per week. Kaliningrad also starts on 27 December at one weekly flight, according to AeroRoutes.

St. Petersburg gets its own Sharm el Sheikh connection from 26 December, with three weekly 737-800 rotations. Mineralnye Vody, a gateway to the Russian Caucasus spa region, receives one weekly service starting 28 December. The final new route of the wave, Krasnodar, launches on 30 December at one weekly frequency, rounding out a run of nine new Sharm el Sheikh city pairs in the space of six days.

Equipment Upgrades on the Sheremetyevo Routes

Alongside the new city pairs, Pyramids Airlines is upgrading both of its Sheremetyevo routes to the Airbus A321 once the Christmas period arrives. The Sharm el Sheikh to Moscow Sheremetyevo service moves to A321 operation from 25 December 2026, while the Hurghada to Moscow Sheremetyevo route follows one day later on 26 December, AeroRoutes reports.

The move to wider single-aisle capacity on the highest-frequency route out of each resort reflects the demand profile that charter operators typically see over the Russian holiday window. What This Means for the Market

The breadth of Russian regional cities in this filing is notable. Rather than concentrating solely on Moscow, Pyramids Airlines is reaching into the Urals with Ekaterinburg and Ufa, into the Volga region with Kazan, into Russia's Baltic exclave with Kaliningrad, and into the southern Caucasus with both Tbilisi and Mineralnye Vody. That is a deliberate spread across a wide geography, giving Russian charter passengers more options to reach the Red Sea without routing through a hub.

All services operate on a scheduled charter basis, which means they are sold through tour operators rather than directly as point-to-point tickets in the conventional sense.

The Bottom Line

Pyramids Airlines is staking out a broad winter charter network across Russia and the Caucasus for 2026/27, with eleven routes either new or upgraded. The scale of the December launch wave in particular suggests confident demand forecasting for the Red Sea resort market.
