Singapore Airlines Refreshes KrisWorld: 4K Screens, Starlink and 2,500 Options

Singapore Airlines has announced a major upgrade to its KrisWorld inflight entertainment platform, adding 4K OLED screens, spatial audio and Starlink connectivity from 2027.

Singapore Airlines has announced a comprehensive refresh of its Singapore Airlines KrisWorld inflight entertainment platform, unveiled on 21 October 2026, bringing 4K OLED touchscreens, spatial audio, Bluetooth pairing and a library of more than 2,500 content options to passengers.

The announcement forms part of a broader SG$1.1 billion (approximately US$860 million) investment programme to refit 41 long-haul aircraft with new cabin interiors, according to AeroTime. Singapore Airlines is planning to reveal the full new long-haul cabin experience on 7 November 2026.

What the Next-Generation Singapore Airlines KrisWorld Delivers

The upgraded platform brings together 4K high-resolution touchscreen displays, with OLED screens on selected aircraft and cabin classes, alongside spatial audio and active noise-cancellation headphones. Passengers will also be able to pair their own personal headphones via Bluetooth.

Content options number more than 2,500, drawing on prominent providers including Apple TV, the BBC, HBO Max and Paramount+, AeroTime reports. The system also includes a new wellness planner and a mini player that allows passengers to browse for content or flight information without pausing whatever they are watching.

A Redesigned Interface Built Around Passenger Feedback

The user interface has been redesigned to make the system easier to navigate. Changes include clearer menus, larger icons and improved search and filter functions, according to AeroTime.

Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President Customer Experience at Singapore Airlines, explained the thinking behind the overhaul. "Our customers told us that they wanted more choice and flexibility in how they spend their time onboard, as well as entertainment and connectivity that fit more naturally into their journey," he said, as quoted by Future Travel Experience. "This guided the development of SIA's next-generation KrisWorld and connectivity offering."

KrisFlyer Integration and Personalisation

Passengers who log into KrisWorld using their KrisFlyer loyalty programme credentials will receive personalised content recommendations and be able to sync their viewing history across different flights. Flight information will also be personalised to the logged-in passenger, AeroTime notes.

The next-generation KrisWorld will be introduced on 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft entering service progressively from 2027, and also on upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft, Future Travel Experience reports.

Starlink Connectivity: Who Gets It and When

Starlink high-speed internet connectivity will be rolled out across Singapore Airlines' Airbus A380, A350-900 and A350-900ULR fleet, covering 53 aircraft in total, from early 2027. The portion of the A350-900 fleet that operates regionally is not included at this stage, according to AeroTime.

The airline also plans to add Starlink to its future Boeing 777-9 fleet, though no timeframe has been given for that. Starlink will allow passengers to stream content, stay connected with friends and family, and continue activities such as social media, gaming and work, Future Travel Experience adds.

Which Passengers Get Starlink for Free

Access to Starlink will be complimentary for passengers travelling in suites, first class and business class. PPS Club and KrisFlyer frequent flyer programme members will also receive free access even when travelling in premium economy or economy class, AeroTime reports.

For passengers travelling in other cabins without elite status, the airline has not yet announced whether a paid tier will be available.

Part of a Wider Product Overhaul

The KrisWorld refresh follows the unveiling, just days earlier, of an updated inflight catering offering under the SIA Chefs' Selection brand, introducing or refreshing up to 100 different menu options across all cabin classes, AeroTime notes.

Taken together, the entertainment, connectivity and dining upgrades sit within Singapore Airlines' SG$1.1 billion cabin refurbishment programme covering 34 A350-900s and seven A350-900ULR aircraft. Future Travel Experience describes the changes as part of "an elevated end-to-end travel experience" that also includes new amenities across all cabin classes and enhanced on-ground services.

The Bottom Line

The next-generation KrisWorld upgrade is a significant step for Singapore Airlines, combining hardware improvements, a deeper content library and meaningful personalisation through KrisFlyer integration. The addition of Starlink, free of charge for premium and elite passengers from early 2027, raises the bar for what passengers can expect in the air.

With the full cabin reveal scheduled for 7 November 2026 and the retrofitted A350-900s entering service progressively from 2027, the pace of change at the airline is considerable. Whether the Starlink rollout stays on schedule and how the airline prices connectivity for non-elite economy passengers are the two things worth watching closely.
