Sun PhuQuoc Airways Plans Ahmedabad Route: India Debut in December 2026
Sun PhuQuoc Airways will launch five-weekly Airbus A321neo service between Phu Quoc and Ahmedabad from 2 December 2026.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways is preparing to enter the Indian market, with AeroRoutes reporting that the Vietnamese carrier plans to launch scheduled service between Phu Quoc (PQC) and Ahmedabad (AMD) from 2 December 2026.

The route will be operated on an Airbus A321neo and marks the airline's first regular scheduled service to India.
The Launch Schedule
According to AeroRoutes, the service will initially operate five times weekly. Flight 9G315 will depart Phu Quoc at 19:35 and arrive in Ahmedabad at 23:30, while the return service, flight 9G314, will leave Ahmedabad at 01:00 and arrive back at Phu Quoc at 07:15.
Both legs will be operated by the Airbus A321neo.
Frequency Increase Planned for February 2027
The five-weekly frequency is not the endpoint. AeroRoutes reports that Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to increase the Phu Quoc to Ahmedabad service to daily operations from 2 February 2027, suggesting confidence in the commercial potential of the route.
That step-up in frequency within just two months of launch points to a deliberate ramp-up strategy rather than a cautious trial.
Why Ahmedabad?
Ahmedabad is Gujarat's largest city and one of India's fastest-growing aviation markets. It is not a conventional first port of call for a new international entrant, which makes Sun PhuQuoc Airways' choice notable.
Phu Quoc, located off the southern coast of Vietnam, has developed substantially as an international leisure destination in recent years. A direct link to western India opens up a new source market for the island, while also offering Vietnamese travellers an alternative gateway into the subcontinent.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways and the Airbus A321neo
The Airbus A321neo is a logical choice for a route of this distance and demand profile. The type offers the range and fuel efficiency needed for thinner international routes, and its capacity suits a frequency-building strategy. The Bottom Line
Sun PhuQuoc Airways' planned Phu Quoc to Ahmedabad route is a notable step for a carrier still building its international network. The decision to start at five-weekly and move to daily within two months indicates a degree of commercial conviction, and the choice of Ahmedabad rather than a more established Indian gateway sets the route apart.
The December 2026 start date gives the airline time to finalise operations, and the frequency uplift in February 2027 will be the real test of whether demand holds. Keep an eye on Sun PhuQuoc Airways using our Airline Search for the latest updates as the launch approaches.
