Also, N14504 is the aircraft involved in the incident.

UPDATE #2 @ 1430 UK time – N14504 is the aircraft involved in the incident.
As per data from Planespotters.net, N14504 is a 1.9 year old Airbus A321neo that was delivered to the airline back in January 2024.
Of the A321neo variant, which is involved in the emergency, United Airlines has 56 of them in their fleet.
Furthermore, within the 56, all of them are in active service, with an average fleet age of 1.0 years.
Also, as well as the A321neo, United Airlines has the following other aircraft in their mainline fleet:
- 75 Airbus A319s
- 71 Airbus A320s
- 567 Boeing 737s
- 61 Boeing 757s
- 53 Boeing 767s
- 96 Boeing 777s
- 80 Boeing 787s.

UPDATE #3 @ 1434 UK time – United Airlines flight UA2100 New York-Chicago is making solid headway, presuming back to Newark following the emergency declaration.

UPDATE #4 @ 1440 UK time – UA2100 has commenced it’s descent from FL100, and will get ready for the emergency landing into Newark.

EMERGENCY UPDATE #5 @ 1446 UK time – United Airlines Emergency UA2100 is about to enter the base leg into Newark.
Furthermore, this means that landing is expected imminently.

UPDATE #6 @ 1451 UK time – UA2100 is now on final into Newark following the emergency call.
Furthermore, the cause of the emergency is yet to be confirmed.
