Airbus closed 2025 with a robust performance in its commercial aircraft division, delivering 793 aircraft to 91 customers worldwide—a 4% increase over the previous year.

The European aerospace giant also secured 1,000 gross orders from 57 customers, underscoring sustained global demand for its single-aisle and widebody jets.

With a record year-end backlog of 8,754 aircraft, including 1,124 widebodies, Airbus enters 2026 with confidence and momentum.

Steady Growth in Deliveries for Airbus

Despite operating in a complex and dynamic global environment, Airbus maintained its upward trajectory in aircraft deliveries.

The company’s total deliveries rose from 766 in 2024 to 793 in 2025, marking its third consecutive year of growth.

The A320 Family remained the backbone of Airbus’ output, accounting for 607 deliveries—up from 602 the previous year.

The A220 Family also saw a notable rise, with 93 aircraft delivered compared to 75 in 2024 and 68 in 2023.

Widebody deliveries remained stable, with the A330 Family contributing 36 units, consistent with the previous year.

The A350 Family saw 57 deliveries, matching 2024’s figure but slightly down from 64 in 2023.

These figures reflect Airbus’ ability to balance production across its portfolio while responding to evolving market needs.

Strong Order Intake and Backlog

Airbus’ order book was equally impressive.

The company recorded 1,000 gross orders in 2025, translating to 889 net orders after cancellations.

The breakdown includes 49 A220s, 656 A320s, 100 A330neos, two A330 MRTTs (Multi Role Tanker Transports), and 193 A350s.

This diverse mix highlights the broad appeal of Airbus’ product lineup across different market segments.

The year-end backlog reached an all-time high of 8,754 aircraft, reflecting both strong customer confidence and long-term demand.

Notably, the widebody backlog hit a record 1,124 aircraft, signaling renewed interest in long-haul travel and fleet modernization among global carriers.

2025 saw Airbus expand its customer base and deepen relationships with existing operators.

The company celebrated several landmark deliveries, including the introduction of new operators for the A220, A321XLR, A330neo, and A350-1000 across all regions.

These milestones underscore Airbus’ global reach and the versatility of its aircraft in meeting diverse operational requirements.

Repeat orders and new customer wins in both single-aisle and widebody campaigns further solidified Airbus’ market position.

The A321XLR, in particular, continued to attract attention for its extended range and fuel efficiency, offering airlines new route possibilities with narrowbody economics.

Navigating a Complex Environment

Airbus’ performance in 2025 is especially notable given the ongoing challenges in the aerospace sector.

Supply chain constraints, geopolitical tensions, and fluctuating fuel prices have tested manufacturers and operators alike.

Yet, Airbus demonstrated resilience and adaptability, maintaining delivery schedules and securing new business.

The company’s ability to achieve a book-to-bill ratio above one—meaning it received more orders than it delivered—speaks to its strategic discipline and market alignment.

This metric is a key indicator of long-term sustainability and growth potential in the aerospace industry.

Looking Ahead for Airbus

Airbus is set to release its full-year financial results for 2025 on 19 February 2026, which will provide deeper insights into its operational performance and strategic priorities.

Analysts and stakeholders will be watching closely for updates on production ramp-up plans, supply chain stabilization efforts, and progress on sustainability initiatives.

With a record backlog and strong order intake, Airbus is well-positioned to navigate the year ahead.

The company’s continued investment in innovation, digitalization, and decarbonization will be critical as it seeks to meet rising demand while advancing its environmental goals.

The manufacturer’s 2025 delivery and order figures reflect a company in stride—balancing growth, complexity, and customer expectations with precision.

As airlines around the world modernize fleets and adapt to shifting travel patterns, the European planemaker remains a central player in shaping the future of commercial aviation.

The year’s achievements not only reinforce its market leadership but also set the stage for continued success in 2026 and beyond.
