In the last hour or so, a Alaska Horizon E175 bound for San Diego declared an emergency not long after departure from Everett.

In the last hour or so, a Alaska Horizon E175 bound for San Diego declared an emergency not long after departure from Everett.

Alaska Horizon flight AS2154, which declared the emergency, is a routine scheduled flight between Everett and San Diego.

Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident is N668QX.

The aircraft registered as N668QX is an Embraer ERJ-175LR (ERJ-170-200 LR), operated by Horizon Air on behalf of Alaska Airlines.

Delivered on June 27, 2025, it is a relatively new addition to the fleet, with an age of just 0.6 years as of October 2025.

Built in São José dos Campos, Brazil, and initially test-registered as PR-ELD, this regional jet is powered by two GE CF34-8E5 engines and configured with 12 first-class and 64 economy seats (C12Y64).

Alaska Horizon flight AS2154, which declared the emergency, departed Everett at 0954 local time this morning and initially climbed out towards San Diego.

However, not too long after the departure, the aircraft declared an emergency and proceeded to head back to the airport.

During the diversion, the Embraer E175LR entered a series of holds to troubleshoot the problem onboard.

At the time of publication, the aircraft is still in the air.

At this time, the reason for the emergency onboard Alaska Horizon flight AS2154 Everett-San Diego is unclear.

UPDATE #1 @ 1913 UK time – TOUCHDOWN!

Alaska Horizon flight AS2154, originally bound for San Diego, has appeared to have touched down safely into Everett following it’s emergency declaration.

As soon as we have more information pertinent to the cause, then we will update you accordingly.

UPDATE #2 @ 1924 UK time – The reason for the emergency onboard AS2154 looks to be a depressurisation incident that has occurred.
